The 4-H leadership retreat is for 4-H youth leaders, families and adult volunteers to learn, network and have fun. Attendees will participate in the annual volunteer training "Amplify Youth Voice" and then choose from a variety of breakout workshops.

Retreat training and workshop offerings

This year's annual volunteer training focuses on making space for youth voices in all 4-H programs so youth can learn, grow and flourish. Participants will reflect on their personal beliefs about youth voice, their behaviors in how we show up in youth-adult partnerships and learn about the essential ingredients in strengthening youth voice and youth adult partnerships in our 4-H program.
Training and workshop sessions - 30 and 60 minutes in length
Officer training
Each officer role (president/vice president, treasurer, secretary, and historian/reporter) will have their own 30-minute session. Participants can choose two positions or attend half of a 60-minute session.
Club agendas: The secret tools for effective and engaging 4-H meetings
Learn about tools to run and organize club meetings to help youth learn and lead.
4-H agronomy program
The 4-H agronomy program is designed to engage youth at all stages of their exposure to agriculture, increasing the challenge as they gain experience. Learn more about this program and how you can expose youth through activities within your club.
Training and workshop sessions - 60 minutes in length
Outdoor adventures
Come explore what a campfire looks like inside! Are you looking for resources to start or enhance your current wildlife program? During this session, you will explore outdoor resources that can be used in your county and or club programs.
Animal science activities
In this session, we will explore the animal science curriculum available for you to check out from your local Extension office. These activities will give youth the opportunity to explore issues related to livestock health and wellness, as well as agritourism opportunities.
Mock meeting
In this session, participants will engage in a mock meeting to learn Parliamentary Procedure and the flow of a meeting. Strategies for voting in different ways or reaching a consensus will also be shared.
Activities for Cloverbuds
Explore the unique development characteristics of Cloverbuds (youth in grades K-2), considering age-appropriate approaches to learning and engagement. Participants will receive ideas and lessons to utilize with Cloverbud youth.
